- I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I have an older sister named Emily whom I am pretty close to. From Kindergarten to Eighth Grade, I attended a private school, and then went to a public high school. That was definitely a new and different experience. I was involved in Theatre throughout high school, performing in a total of 5 shows! Three of which were musicals. I loved it! I decided to become a teacher after an internship I was in my senior year of high school where I assisted and taught in a Kindergarten classroom at a neighborhood elementary school. I graduated from Texas Tech in May 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and am currently working on a Master's degree in Language Literacy Education. I have a passion for children's literature, as well as working with students who have learning disabilities. I have two learning disabilities myself, so I feel I can relate to those students and help them become more confident in their learning. I enjoy writing, spending time with friends and family, reading children’s books, and watching movies.
